Itinerary
Our 7 Days Imperial Cities & Desert tour from Fes begins with a morning departure at 8 am. We embark on a scenic journey through the Middle Atlas, passing through Ifrane, often referred to as the Moroccan Switzerland. Our next stop is Azrou and the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, the only ones of their kind living outside of Asia. Then we continue our drive towards the Erg Chebbi dunes. A midday meal awaits us in Medilt before we continue our journey. As we leave Medilt behind, the sub-Saharan terrain gradually unfolds until we reach Merzouga, known as the « Desert door. » Here, we switch our car to camels for a mesmerizing sunset ride. The day concludes with an unforgettable night in our desert tent amidst the serene desert landscape. Dinner and overnight stay in the Erg Chebbi desert include live drum music performed by local Berbers, a bonfire, and an enchanting night under the captivating stars of Merzouga.
The second day of our Private tour, begins with an early wake-up call to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Boumalen Dades via Erfoud, renowned for its artisanal production of marbles and fossils. Along the way, we pass through charming Berber towns such as in Melaab and Tinjdad. Our journey leads us to the stunning Todgha Gorges, where towering walls create a breathtaking spectacle. Following a delightful lunch at this picturesque location, we continue our drive to Boumalen Dades. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel, offering a tranquil setting for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Our 7-day Imperial Cities & Desert tour continues with a memorable journey from Boumalne Dades to Marrakech. We embark on a scenic drive through the enchanting Valley of Roses, renowned for its vibrant cultivation of Damask roses used in the production of rose water and various cosmetic products. Optionally, we can stop at local cooperatives to observe the traditional methods of producing these coveted goods. Continuing our expedition, we traverse through Ouarzazate, where an optional visit to the renowned Atlas Film Studio awaits. Our route then takes us to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a cinematic masterpiece immortalized in films like Lawrence of Arabia, Games of Thrones, and Gladiator. After indulging in a delectable lunch within the Kasbah, we traverse the picturesque Tizin’Tichka Pass (2260m), offering panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and quaint Berber villages. Upon our arrival in Marrakech, we will check into the Riad/Hotel, offering a restful and a peaceful overnight stay.
This day is dedicated to the captivating city of Marrakech. After enjoying breakfast at your Riad, we will go on a guided tour led by an official guide who will enrich your experience with the city’s rich history and culture. Explore Marrakech’s highlights, including the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Medersa Ben Youssef, the Secret Garden, Marrakech Museum, Koutoubia Mosque, the bustling souks (shopping optional!), and the Mellah or Old Jewish Quarter. In the afternoon, your driver will pick you up to explore one of Marrakech’s finest gardens, the Majorelle Garden. As evening falls, the lively atmosphere of Jamaa El Fena Square comes alive. Enjoy free time to stroll around before retiring for the night at a Riad.
Following breakfast at the Riad, our 7-day private tour will proceed towards Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, via Casablanca. In Casablanca, a brief visit awaits to explore its renowned attractions. Our itinerary includes a visit to the impressive Hassan II Mosque and a stroll along the Corniche, with optional stops at other notable sites. After our visit, we’ll embark on the journey to Rabat. Approximately an hour later, we’ll arrive in Rabat, where we’ll check into our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
On the sixth day of our journey, we carve out half a day to discover the enchanting city of Rabat. Following breakfast, we embark on a captivating exploration of its renowned attractions. Highlights include the iconic Hassan Tower and the revered Mausoleum of Mohamed V. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Rabat’s historic Medina before indulging in a delightful lunch at a local restaurant within the medina’s vibrant streets. Afterward, we set our sights on the picturesque blue pearl, Chefchaouen, nestled amidst the breathtaking Rif Mountains, where we’ll unwind and spend the night.
Following breakfast, our adventure continues as we delve into the charming villages nestled at the foothills of the Rif Mountains. The iconic blue-hued buildings welcome us as we explore the Medina, with its Spanish-style architecture and winding alleys. Take your time to soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this enchanting town, enjoying ample free time for leisurely exploration. After a delightful lunch amidst the beauty of this picturesque town, we bid farewell to Chefchaouen and make our way back to Fes, where our unforgettable tour comes to an end.
